Welcome to St. John’s Episcopal

Love Your Neighbor. No Exceptions.

Christ’s commandment to love God and love our neighbor is at the core of Christian faith.

We are an energetic, joyful, mission-minded parish growing in diversity, depth of faith, and engagement with the world around us.

We are a big tent: black and white, gay and straight, progressive and conservative, young and not-so-young.

Together we cultivate a life of faith and hope, practice hospitality and inclusive community, and inspire all to grow as agents of Christ-like love, generosity, and justice in the world.

We invite you to come and see what this community of faith is like. You may find just the kind of welcome, love, community, and sense of purpose you’ve been looking for.

Worship at St. John’s embraces both the ancient and new. We look to scripture, the wisdom of generations before us, and human reason to guide us in the life-giving and liberating Way of Love, a Way revealed most clearly in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Music at St. John’s brings together parish musicians of every age, inspiring our worship with everything from 17th century hymns to jazz saxophone.

St. John’s offers free, professional Nursery Care for children under 5 years during our 10 am service (if desired) as well as Sunday School for children at both services using a Montessori-inspired program called Godly Play, loved by our children and parents alike.

Our middle and high school youth group  meets regularly for faith development and fun, and is very active in serving the Wake Forest community and beyond.

Adults find many avenues at St. John’s to grow in Christian faith, build dear friendships, enjoy the care of community, love and serve others, and share with God in creating a more just and peaceful world that is reconciled to God and to one another through the love of Christ.
